Abstract The present invention provides a method for operating an atomic furnace that can reduce the number of fuels being filled and replaced after the second cycle. To achieve the objective, in an atomic furnace where the core thereof stores a plurality of replacement fuel collectives with an infinite doubling rate, a control rod is inserted into and operating in a control unit formed of four replacement fuel collectives with a higher infinite double rate in said plurality of replacement fuel collectives in a period longer than half of an operation cycle.
