An object of the invention is to provide a transfer device capable of reliably detecting an obstacle obstructing the descent of a chair and suppressing an excessive load from acting on a motor driving the descent of the chair, and a bathing assistance system including the same. The chair unit of the invention comprises: a chair; an elevating member for supporting the chair; a frame for supporting the elevating member in a vertically movable manner; a driving unit arranged at the frame for moving the elevating member up and down; and a connecting mechanism that connects the chair and the elevating member in a manner of moving the chair up and down together with the elevating member, and is configured to move the elevating member downward relative to the chair when an upward load is applied to the chair and the elevating member moves downward.
