Disclosed herein is a refined product obtained from the rice hull of a rice crop, which consists basically of type II arabinogalactan having a number average molecular weight in the range of 56 to 103 kDa. Also disclosed are a process for preparing the refined product and using the refined product to enhance the biological activities of the innate immune cells and treat allergy and cancer.
