Abstract This invention provides a structure having surface self-cleaning properties, which includes a substrate, a thin film provided on the surface of the substrate, wherein the substrate is selected from metal materials, ceramic materials or plastic materials, and the thin film is constituted of well-arranged titanium dioxide nanotubes. This titanium dioxide thin film with a nanotube configuration on the surface thereof has super hydrophilic properties even without additional ultraviolet process, so the structure having such a titanium dioxide thin film with nanotubes as the outer surface thereof can have self-cleaning properties.
