One kind of automatic analyzing system and method for behavior of adult firefly luminescence, which is used to automatically record the film of firefly luminescence, analyze film content, and then store the analysis results in database. The database can provide researcher to study the characteristics difference of firefly luminescence with respect to different kind, different time, and different place of fireflies. The automatic analyzing system for behavior of firefly luminescence consists of two major parts, which are: (1) image automation tracking and recording systems, and (2) an image analyzing system. Image automation tracking and recording system can be used to track firefly automatically and then record film of the firefly flashing process. Image analyzing system can be used to calculate the characteristics including period, illumination distribution, duration, and interval of firefly flashing.
