Abstract Substituted pyridines and pyridazines having angiogenesis inhibiting activity and generalized structural formula (I) wherein the ring containing A, B, D, E, and L is phenyl or a nitrogen-containing heterocycle; groups X and Y may be any of a variety of defined linking units; R1 and R2 may be defined independent substituents or together may be a ring-defining bridge; ring J may be an aryl, pyridyl, or cycloalkyl group; and G groups may be any of a variety of defined substituents. Pharmaceutical compositions containing these materials, and methods of treating a mammal having a condition characterized by abnormal angiogenesis or hyperpermeability processes using these materials are also disclosed. Substituované pyridíny a pyridazíny s aktivitou inhibície angiogenézy, ktoré majú všeobecný štruktúrny vzorec (I), kde kruh obsahujúci A, B, D, E a L je fenyl alebo heterocyklus obsahujúci dusík; skupiny X a Y môžu byť ľubovoľné z definovaného súboru spájajúcich členov; R1 a R2 môžu byť definované nezávisle substituenty alebo spolu môžu vytvárať mostík predstavujúci kruh; kruh J môže byť aryl, pyridyl alebo cykloalkylová skupina; a skupiny G môžu byť ľubovoľné z definovaného súboru substituentov. Riešenie sa tiež týka farmaceutických prostriedkov a použitia týchto zlúčenín na výrobu liečiva na liečenie cicavca, ktorý trpí stavom charakterizovaným abnormálnou angiogenézou alebo hyperpermeabilitou.
