Abstract FIELD: medicine. ^ SUBSTANCE: method involves determining malonic dialdehyde concentration and superoxide dysmutase activity in patient blood before operation and at the fourth-fifth day after the operation. Malonic dialdehyde concentration being found increased when compared to preoperative data and superoxide dysmutase activity being reduced or retained approximately equal to preoperative data, postoperative wound suppuration is predicted. ^ EFFECT: simplified study; high reproducibility in any biochemical laboratory; high reliability of results. ^ 1 tbl
