Abstract | tire industry. SUBSTANCE: invention is designed for treads of vehicle tires. According to proposed method tungsten-containing mass is filled into mould for making hard insert, then mass is pressed for consolidation and sintered to form insert of required length. Part of mold is filled with tungsten-containing mass to depth less than insert length. The rest of mold is filled additionally with element or additional mass of material whose specific weight is less than specific weight of tungsten-containing mass, and rigid connection of tungsten- containing mass and additional element or additional mass in mould or outside the mould is provided. Wear-resistant insert for anti-skid stud is made in form of rod member of preset length and preset cross-section provide4d with working part. The latter is made with length of insert being manufactured of tungsten-containing mass. The rest of insert is made of mass with specific weight less than specific weight of tungsten-containing mass and is rigidly connected to working part of insert. EFFECT: reduced weight of anti-skid stud owing to reduction of insert weight, improved operation reliability of anti-skid studs. 11 cl, 6 dwg |
