Abstract FIELD: manufacture of w-shaped sections in different branches of machine engineering. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of preliminarily bending strip, forming radius portions between parts of blank and finally bending it by applying normal and tangential efforts to parts of said blank. Novelty is step for preliminarily bending central portion of blank up to angle being by 2-5 degrees more than necessary angle value. Further application of normal efforts to peripheral portion of blank is followed by creation of reactive tangential efforts along lateral surfaces of said portion. Blank is finally bent up to necessary angle value at tensioning its walls and radius parts. EFFECT: lowered bending radius of sections, lowered springiness of bent material, decreased energy and metal consumption of equipment for making w-shaped sections. 6 dwgi
