Abstract | The invention relates to a method for identifying an analyte on a surface contaminated with various chemical compounds or biological agents and determining the chemical composition thereof in real time, using mass spectrometry, and to a device for applying said method. According to the invention, the method consists in sweeping out the sample surface with a flux of metastable atoms interacting with the analyte molecules desorbed from the sample surface by irradiation with a pulsed laser beam, converting them into ionized molecules which are sucked in and analyzed by a mass spectrometer. The device for applying the method, as claimed by the invention, comprises a source () of metastable atoms, the operation of which is ensured by a circulating gas flow coming from a reservoir () through a pipe (), an electrical discharge taking place in the said gas flow, due to a high voltage source () which generates a flux of atoms/ionized molecules () sweeping the sample () placed on a support (), the sample surface being irradiated with a laser beam (), the so-generated flux of atoms/ionized molecules being then sucked in a mass spectrometer () through a funnel ().
Invenţia se referă la o metodă pentru depistarea şi determinarea compoziţiei chimice a unui analit de pe o suprafaţă contaminată cu diverşi compuşi chimici sau agenţi biologici, în timp real, folosind spectrometria de masă, şi la un dispozitiv care aplică metoda. Metoda conform invenţiei constă în spălarea suprafeţei probei cu un flux de atomi metastabili ce interacţionează cu moleculele analitului desorbite de pe suprafaţa probei prin iradierea cu un fascicul laser în impulsuri, transformându-le în molecule ionizate ce sunt aspirate şi analizate de un spectrometru de masă.
