The present invention relates to a covering for protection against corrosion and knocks, specifically designed for railway wheel sets, consisting of at least three superimposed layers of different paints. The paints of the second and third layers also contain reinforcing fibres. Advantageously, the second layer of paint, i.e. the intermediate layer, provides a substantially elastic support for the third layer of the paint, i.e. the outer layer, which in turn is very resistant against knocks of ballast and ice.
