Summary: | An interface assembly (10) for an electronic device (12), the device including a base (14) and a control (16) mounted on the base. The base is coupled with the control and has a number of contacts (20) mounted on the base and a number of data ports (22) spaced from the contacts. A number of conductors (24), each having a body partially disposed in one of the apertures, are disposed between the data ports and the contacts such that data is transmissible between the data ports and the contacts through the conductor bodies. The conductor bodies are generally compressed and/or generally compressible between the data ports and one of the number of contacts, and is formed of a conductive carbon material. The data ports are spaced from the contacts by a distance within a range of values, and the conductors provide a conductive path between the data ports and the contacts at each spacing distance value. A fluid impermeable cover (28) is disposed over the base and covers the control and the contacts to prevent moisture from contacting these components, with the conductors extending through the cover. |
