Dannelsen av PHB gjennomfares ved at plantene trans- formeres genetisk med modifiserte gener fra mikroorganismer. Genene koder for enzymene som kreves for å syntetisere PHB fra acetyl-CoA eller relaterte metabolitter. PHB er en svært nyttig polymer som er bionedbrytbar. |
