Abstract | Managing databases implemented in a cloud computing environment. A method (200) includes detecting (202) that a database (115) implemented in the cloud computing environment is in a state of non-use. The method further includes as a result (204) of detecting that a database implemented in the cloud computing environment is in a state of non-use, instantiating a workload (120) in the cloud computing environment to deactivate the database. The workload is configured to store metadata (122) for the database and database data (124) remotely in cloud storage (126) such that the database can be reactivated at a later time. |
