Abstract There is disclosed a method comprising: providing a weighted acid composition comprising an acid, a brine, and an amino acid and placing the weighted acid composition into a subterranean formation, wherein: the acid comprises formic acid or methane sulfonic acid; the brine comprises at least one salt selected from the group consisting of: zinc bromide, calcium bromide, sodium bromide and potassium bromide; the weighted acid composition has a specific gravity of above 1.08 (density above 1078 kg/m3 (9 lb/gal)); and the amino acid comprises glycine.
