Abstract A process for the preparation of (co)polymers employing a peroxide composition comprising at least one organic peroxide wherein at least 20 percent of the total active oxygen content of said organic peroxide is attributable to one or more cyclic ketone peroxides represented by formulae (I-III). These cyclic ketone peroxides are highly efficient as polymerization initiators. Also new cyclic ketone peroxides and compositions comprising such compounds are provided. Un procedimiento para la preparacion de (co)polímeros que emplean una composicion de peroxido que comprende por lo menos un peroxido orgánico en donde por lo menos 20% del contenido de oxígeno activo total de dicho peroxido orgánico se atribuye a uno o más peroxidos de cetona cíclicos representados por las formulas (I-III); estos peroxidos de cetona cíclicos son altamente eficientes como iniciadores de la polimerizacion; se proveen también peroxidos de cetona cíclicos nuevos y composiciones que comprenden dichos compuestos.
