The present disclosure is related to a device for the treatment and performance of improvement and degradation tests in solar cells that comprises: a treatment metal box that includes a halogen lamp and three hollow circular cylinders made from different materials, so that one of said circular cylinders has in its central part, an undercut that allows to hold a substrate to be treated in the device; a fan support allowing the placement and removal of a fan that acts as a cooling element or temperature controller of the treated substrate; an electronic circuit contained in a small plastic cabinet that provides the energy needed for the fan to operate, and a modular support which holds a first, a second and a third data acquisition cards, all of them, fixed on a rectangular base; wherein said first, second and third data acquisition cards in combination with a personal computer, allow TO respectively, to automatically control the on and off switch of the halogen lamp, the automatic con trol of the speed of the fan and, determining by applying the software included in said personal computer and a source-measurement instrument, the time in which the parameters of the solar cell in treatment have been enhanced, or have been degraded, ordering in the latter case, to stop the treatment: Also refers to a method for the application of said device. La presente invención se refiere a un dispositivo para tratamiento y pruebas de mejora y degradación en celdas solares que se comprende de: una caja metálica de tratamientos que incluye una lámpara de halógeno y a tres cilindros circulares huecos fabricados de diferentes materiales, de tal forma que, uno de dichos cilindros circulares presenta en su parte central un socavado que permite albergar un sustrato para ser tratado en el dispositivo, un soporte de ventilador que permite la colocación y remoción de un ventilador que actúa como elemento enfriador o de control de temperatura del sustrato tratado; un circuito electrónico contenido en un pequeño gabinete de plástico que provee de energía necesaria para el funcionamiento del ventilador; y un soporte modular que alberga una primera, una segunda y una tercera tarjetas de adquisición de datos, todos ellos, fijados sobre una base de forma rectangular, en donde, dichas primera, segunda y tercera tarjetas de adquisición de datos en combinación con una computadora personal, permiten respectivamente, el control automático del encendido o apagado de la lámpara de alógeno, el control automático de la velocidad del ventilador, y la determinación mediante la aplicación de un software comprendido en dicha computadora personal y un instrumento de fuente-medición de el momento en que los parámetros de la celda solar en tratamiento han sido mejorados o presentan una degradación, ordenando en este último caso la detención del tratamiento, y también se refiere a un método para la aplicación de dicho dispositivo.
