Summary: | The present invention discloses a method for synthesizing and thermal treatment at 400°C of the ZrO2 and Rb/ZrO2-1 nanocatalysts, consisting of a variant of the traditional sol-gel method irradiating with ultraviolet light (240 nm). Herein, the solutions of each xerogel obtained before removing the solvents by traditional evaporation are the zirconium oxide nanocatalyst at 70°C and the zirconium oxide nanocatalyst at 1% rubidium by weight of the metal. Said elements include 143.0 mL of anhydrous ethyl alcohol (C2H5OH, 99.8%, Sigma-Aldrich) and 31 mL of deionized water. The rubidium xerogel solution contains 0.1415g of rubidium chloride (> 99%, Sigma-Aldrich), subjected to a reflux temperature of up to 70°C and constant stirring of 29 ml of zirconium n-butoxide (98% from Sigma-Aldrich), added to each solution, subjected to ultraviolet radiation at 240 nm for 60 minutes with constant agitation and temperature controlled at 70°C. The molar ratio that the xerogel solutions contain is H2O/ Zr(But)4 = 20/1 and EtOH/Zr(But)4= 5/1; after irradiating each xerogel solution, it evaporates the solvent using a Felisa brand muffle for twelve hours. The obtained nanocatalysts are labeled as ZrO2-70 and Rb/ZrO2-1-70 , taking three grams of each synthesized nanocatalyst, subjected to a heat treatment at 400°C, using an oven at a speed of calcination of three degrees per minute from room temperature to 400°C, maintaining the temperature for four hours in a furnace.
