Abstract The present invention relates to a process for obtaining light polymeric compounds with anti-oxidant properties using green coffee beans in the molten state. The said process consists of melting and mixing thermoplastic polymer matrices and green coffee beans through batch and continuous mixing processes. Herein, a coffee bean roasting process occurs, generating gases and bioactive compounds trapped by the thermoplastic polymer matrix, obtaining said compounds with higher resistance to thermo-oxidation and improved mechanical properties. Also, said compounds satisfy needs in the industry of transformation and formulation of polymers, food packaging, biomedical, automotive, electronics, textiles, among others. La presente invención se refiere a un proceso para la obtención de compuestos poliméricos ligeros y con propiedades anti-oxidantes utilizando granos de café verde, mediante un proceso en estado fundido. El proceso comprende la mezcla en estado fundido de matrices de polímeros termoplásticos y granos de café verde, mediante procesos de mezclado por lote y/o en continuo, en los cuales ocurre un proceso de tostado del grano de café, generando gases y compuestos bioactivos que son atrapados por la matriz de polímero termoplástico, obteniéndose compuestos poliméricos ligeros, con mayor resistencia a la termo-oxidación y con mejoradas propiedades mecánicas. Los compuestos obtenidos por el método de esta invención satisfacen necesidades en la industria de la transformación y formulación de polímeros, empaques de alimentos, biomédica, automotriz, electrónica, textil entre otras.
