Summary:The present disclosure is related to a method for producing metal nanoparticles using bifunctional molecules, in particular for the production of copper nanoparticles, wherein the method completely excludes the use of common reducing agents; the method includes a copper salt precursor, the use of bifunctional ligands and polar organic solvents at relatively low temperatures; thereby obtaining stable copper nanoparticles (CuNp) with an average particle size of 1 to 2.5 nm.
