Summary:The present invention relates to a plant from the Capsicum family suitable for use as rootstock, capable of being obtained from the initial crossing of a Capsicum plant, preferably a C. annuum plant, with a Capsicum baccatum plant used as female parent, optionally followed by one or more additional crossing(s) with a Capsicum baccatum plant. Another subject of the present invention is a grafted plant constituted of a rootstock according to the invention and a graft. A further subject of the present invention is a seed, a cell or a part of a rootstock plant according to the invention. A final subject of the present invention is the use of a plant according to the invention as rootstock and a process for obtaining a grafted plant. La presente invención se relaciona con una planta de la familia Capsicum conveniente para el uso como rizoma, capaz de obtenerse a partir del entrecruzamiento inicial de una planta Capsicum, preferiblemente una planta C. annuum, con una planta Capsicum baccatum que se usa como genitor femenino, seguido opcionalmente por uno o más entrecruzamientos adicionales con una planta Capsicum baccatum. Otra cuestión de la presente invención es una planta injertada constituida por un rizoma de acuerdo con la invención y un injerto. Una cuestión adicional de la presente invención es una semilla, una célula o una parte de una planta con rizomas de acuerdo con la invención. Una cuestión final de la presente invención es el uso de una planta de acuerdo con la invención como un rizoma y un proceso para obtener una planta injertada.
