Abstract The title composite is prepared by molding Al2O3-ZrO2 based nanocomposite added with 1.0-15.0 wt% Al2TiO5 of 0.3-1.0 micro meter grain size distribution and sintering the molded composite at 1,500-1,700 deg.C. The above Al2O3-ZrO2 based nanocomposite is produced by dispersing 5-40 vol% ZrO2 having 1.0-3.0 mol% Y2O3 and tetragonal ZrO2, whose average particle size is smaller than 100nm in -Al2O3 powders smaller than 2.0 m particle size. The composite product has low time relevant friction coefficient and high strength.
