Abstract According to an embodiment of the present invention, an actuator for a camera includes: a housing; a carrier moving in an optical axis direction with respect to the housing; first and second rails provided on the carrier; a third rail provided on the carrier and between the first rail and the second rail; a first ball located between the first rail and the housing; a second ball located between the second rail and the housing; and a third ball located between the third rail and the housing and located above or below the first and second balls based on the optical axis direction. According to the present invention, the thickness of the actuator itself can be further slimmed, enabling optimization of space utilization. 본 발명의 실시예에 의한 카메라용 액추에이터는 하우징; 상기 하우징을 기준으로 광축 방향으로 이동하는 캐리어; 상기 캐리어에 구비되는 제1 및 제2레일; 상기 캐리어에 구비되되, 상기 제1레일과 제2레일 사이에 구비되는 제3레일; 상기 제1레일과 상기 하우징 사이에 위치하는 제1볼; 상기 제2레일과 상기 하우징 사이에 위치하는 제2볼; 및 상기 제3레일과 상기 하우징 사이에 위치하며, 광축 방향을 기준으로 상기 제1 및 제2볼보다 상방 또는 하방에 위치하는 제3볼을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 한다.
