Summary:An imaging device, according to one aspect of the technical idea of the present disclosure, includes an image sensor which generates a plurality of original images and an image processor which performs an operation to generate a merged image based on the plurality of original images. The image processor classifies the plurality of original images into a plurality of stitching groups based on a first stitching direction, stitches original images included in a same stitching group to generate a plurality of intermediate images, and stitches the plurality of intermediate images based on a second stitching direction to thus generate the merged image. 본 개시의 기술적 사상의 일측면에 따른 이미징 장치는 복수의 원본 이미지들을 생성하는 이미지 센서 및 복수의 원본 이미지들에 기초하여 병합 이미지를 생성하기 위한 연산을 수행하는 이미지 프로세서를 포함하고, 이미지 프로세서는 제1 스티칭(stitching) 방향에 기초하여 복수의 원본 이미지들을 복수의 스티칭 그룹들로 분류하고, 동일한 스티칭 그룹에 포함된 원본 이미지들을 스티칭하여 복수의 중간 이미지들을 생성하고, 제2 스티칭 방향에 기초하여 복수의 중간 이미지들을 스티칭하여 병합 이미지를 생성한다.
