Summary:The present invention relates to a regenerative braking torque control system of an electric vehicle and a method thereof. The regenerative braking torque control system of the electric vehicle of the present invention comprises: a traveling information setting unit which selects a regenerative braking level and sets at least one traveling mode among a plurality of traveling modes, according to a driver's input; a boarding information detection unit which detects boarding information corresponding to the number of people and a boarding position of a passenger in a vehicle seat; and a control unit which performs traveling according to the regenerative braking level selected in the traveling information setting unit, and reflects motor torque responsiveness according to the number of the people and the boarding position detected from the boarding information detection unit in regenerative braking torque and transmits the same to a motor controller for traveling. The present invention relates to the regenerative braking torque control system of the electric vehicle which creates a differentiated motor torque response area, and the method thereof. 본 발명은 운전자의 입력에 따라, 회생제동 레벨을 선정하고, 복수개의 주행 모드 중 적어도 어느 하나의 주행 모드를 설정하는 주행 정보 설정부, 차량 시트에 탑승한 동승자의 인원수 및 탑승 위치에 해당하는 탑승 정보를 검출하는 탑승 정보 검출부 및 상기 주행 정보 설정부에서 선정된 회생제동 레벨에 따라 주행이 이루어지게 하되, 상기 탑승 정보 검출부로부터 검출된 동승자의 인원수 및 탑승 위치에 따른 모터 토크 응답성을 회생제동 토크에 반영하여 주행을 위한 모터제어기로 전달하는 제어부를 포함한다.
