Abstract A display device includes a display panel and a circuit board attached to the display panel. The display panel includes: a substrate including a display area and a pad area located outside the display area; a pixel disposed in the display area on the substrate; an encapsulation layer disposed in the display area on the substrate and covering the pixel; and a pad electrode disposed in the pad area on the substrate, and electrically connected to the circuit board. After the formation of the encapsulation layer and before the attachment of the circuit board, the pad area is treated with a fluorine compound to remove a residual film formed in the pad area. Accordingly, the pad electrode can contain fluorine in an upper surface thereof, and can prevent or mitigate an increase in the resistance of the pad electrode due to the residual film remaining on the pad electrode.
