Abstract Slurry is manufactured by mixing active material particles, encapsulated particles, a binder and an organic solvent. A coating film is formed by coating the slurry on the surface of a substrate. An active material layer is formed by heating and drying the coating film. An electrode is manufactured by compressing the active material layer. The encapsulated particles include a thermoplastic resin. The thermoplastic resin is softened by being heated in the presence of the organic solvent. The encapsulated particles are contracted by softening the thermoplastic resin, thereby forming pores in the active material layer. 활물질 입자와 캡슐상 입자와 바인더와 유기 용매가 혼합됨으로써, 슬러리가 조제된다. 슬러리가 기재의 표면에 도공됨으로써, 도막이 형성된다. 도막이 가열되어 건조됨으로써, 활물질층이 형성된다. 활물질층이 압축됨으로써, 전극이 제조된다. 캡슐상 입자는 열가소성 수지를 포함한다. 열가소성 수지는 유기 용매의 공존 하에서 가열됨으로써 연화된다. 열가소성 수지가 연화됨으로써, 캡슐상 입자가 수축되어, 활물질층 내에 공공이 형성된다.
