Abstract A traverse mechanism (4) of a yarn winding machine (1) includes a drive motor (53) which generates the rotation of a drive shaft (531), a crank disc (52) which converts the rotation of the drive shaft (531) of the drive motor (53) into the rotation of a circular orbit, and a reciprocating double slider crank portion (51) which converts the rotation of the circular orbit of the crank disc (52) into a reciprocating motion. The crank disc (52) includes a disc portion (521) which rotates while being connected to the drive shaft (531) and transmits power of the drive motor (53) and a crank pin (523) which transmits power to the reciprocating double slider crank portion (51). The distance between the disc portion (521) and the crank pin (523) is changeable, and the reciprocating double slider crank portion (51) includes a traverse guide (516) locking a yarn (Y).
