A method and system for processing a computer-generated hologram (CGH) are disclosed. The system for processing a CGH includes a CGH generating device and a display device. The CGH generating device changes, after propagating object data from a first depth layer to a second depth layer, amplitude data of the object data to predetermined second amplitude data, repeatedly performs a process of backpropagating the object data from the second depth layer to the first depth layer and then changing the amplitude data of the object data to predetermined first amplitude data, and generates a CGH by using the object data.
