Abstract Disclosed is an electronic device comprising: a sensor; a communication circuit; a memory for storing heat generation control data for entering a heat generation control mode at a first temperature; and a processor operatively connected to the sensor and the memory. The processor is configured to: learn a scenario according to the use of the electronic device in a first temperature range designated by using the sensor; store the scenario in the memory; measure, by using the communication circuit and/or the sensor, whether a location element of the electronic device changes; start the scenario when the location element changes; predict the external temperature of the electronic device on the basis of the scenario; and enter the heat generation control mode at a second temperature different from the first temperature when the predicted external temperature is different from the internal temperature of the electronic device. Therefore, the electronic device can predict the external temperature of the electronic device and control a temperature for entering the heat generation control mode based on the predicted external temperature.
