The present invention relates to an alkali metal salt manufacturing method that is characterized by including: a pretreatment step in which a refining-inhibiting substance is removed from an aqueous solution of an alkali metal salt, using a separation membrane that has a glucose removal rate and an isopropyl alcohol removal rate simultaneously satisfying expressions (1) and (2) below when a 1000ppm aqueous solution of glucose with a temperature of 25°C and a pH of 6.5 and a 1000ppm aqueous solution of isopropyl alcohol with a temperature of 25°C and a pH of 6.5 have respectively been made to pass therethrough using an operating pressure of 0.75MPa; and a recovery step in which the alkali metal salt is recovered from the aqueous solution of the alkali metal salt after the pretreatment step. (1): 90% > glucose removal rate ≥ 50%. (2): glucose removal rate - isopropyl alcohol removal rate ≥ 50%.
