The present invention relates to a water heater, which heats water by using one or more of an electric heater and a hybrid heat pump, comprising: a water tank which communicates with a water input pipe for supplying water into the inside, which has a heater for heating the supplied water, and which communicates with a water discharge pipe for discharging the water heated up to the preset temperature; an insulation structure which is placed between an outer side of the water tank and the exterior of the water heater; and an outer structure which forms the exterior of the water heater to physically protect internal elements placed on the outer side of the water tank or the insulation structure. The outer structure includes: a first outer panel fastened with a side surface of the water heater; a second outer panel fastened with one or more other side surfaces of the water heater placed at a position opposite to one surface of the first outer panel; and a cover panel fastened with a part between the first outer panel and the second outer panel and being detachable from the water heater to approach the internal elements. The present invention is able to protect the internal elements in a stable manner, prevent a user from carelessly approaching the water heater in advance, make it easy to detach the water heater, increase the convenience in maintenance, form the exterior of the water heater, and provide excellent beautifying effects. 본 발명인 온수기는, 전기식 히터 또는 하이브리드식 히트펌프 중에서 적어도 하나를 이용하여 물을 가열하는 온수기로서, 내부로 물을 공급하기 위한 입수 배관과 연통되고, 공급받은 물을 가열하기 위한 히터가 구비되며, 설정 온도까지 가열된 물을 배출하기 위한 출수 배관과 연통되는 물탱크, 상기 물탱크의 외측과 온수기의 외관 사이에 구비되는 단열 구조 및 온수기의 외관을 형성하고, 상기 물탱크의 외측 또는 상기 단열 구조에 위치하는 내부 요소를 물리적으로 보호하도록 구비되는 외부 구조를 포함하되, 상기 외부 구조는, 상기 온수기의 어느 한 측면에 체결되는 제1 외부 패널, 상기 제1 외부 패널의 어느 일면과 반대되는 위치에 있는 상기 온수기의 적어도 다른 한 측면에 체결되는 제2 외부 패널 및 상기 제1 외부 패널 및 제2 외부 패널의 사이에 체결되고, 상기 내부 요소에 접근이 가능하도록 상기 온수기로부터 탈부착되는 커버 패널을 포함함으로써, 내부 요소를 안정적으로 보호하고 사용자의 부주의한 접근을 미연에 방지하며, 용이한 탈부착을 통해 유지관리면에서 편의성이 증진되고, 나아가 온수기의 외관을 형성하면서 우수한 심미적 기능을 제공한다.
