Abstract Provided are a vehicle for controlling a battery charge amount by determining whether a power generation apparatus for energy harvesting is installed, and a control method thereof. The vehicle according to one embodiment comprises: a battery; a power supply device for supplying a charge power to the battery; a removable power generation device; a battery sensor detecting a state of charge of the battery; and a control unit which determines whether the power generation apparatus is mounted on a basis of the state of charge of the battery, decreases a target amount of charge of the battery when the power generation apparatus is mounted, and controls the power supply apparatus while driving based on the adjusted target amount of charge. 에너지 하베스팅(energy harvesting)을 위한 발전 장치가 장착되었는지 판단하여 배터리 충전량을 제어하는 차량 및 그 제어 방법을 제공한다. 일 실시예에 따른 차량은, 배터리; 상기 배터리에 충전 전력을 공급하는 전력 공급 장치; 탈부착이 가능한 발전 장치; 상기 배터리의 충전 상태를 감지하는 배터리 센서; 및 상기 배터리의 충전 상태에 기초하여 상기 발전 장치의 장착 여부를 결정하고, 상기 발전 장치가 장착된 경우 상기 배터리의 충전 목표량을 감소하는 방향으로 조정하고, 상기 조정된 충전 목표량에 기초하여 주행 중 상기 전력 공급 장치를 제어하는 제어부;를 포함한다.를 포함한다.
