Abstract Disclosed is a lithium secondary battery including an isocyanate-based compound to decrease a resistance increase rate due to high temperature storage. According to the present invention, the lithium secondary battery comprises: a positive electrode; a negative electrode; and an electrolyte disposed between the positive electrode and the negative electrode. The positive electrode includes a positive electrode active material represented by Li_xNi_yM_1-yO_2-zA_z, wherein 0.9 <= x <= 1.2, 0.6 < y <= 0.98, 0 <= z < 0.2, M is one or more elements selected from a group consisting of Al, Mg, Mn, Co, Fe, Cr, V, Ti, Cu, B, Ca, Zn, Zr, Nb, Mo, Sr, Sb, W, and Bi, and A is an element having an oxidation number of -1 or -2.
