The present invention is to provide a device transferring method capable of efficiently transferring a device from a wafer to a mounting substrate. The device transferring method for transferring a plurality of devices to a mounting substrate provided with a plurality of electrodes comprises the steps of: adhering an expandable tape to the plurality of devices formed on a surface side of a substrate through a buffer layer; applying a laser beam to the buffer layer from a back surface side of the substrate so as to break the buffer layer, wherein the laser beam has permeability with respect to the substrate and absorbency with respect to the buffer layer; moving the tape in the direction for spacing away from the substrate to separate the substrate and the plurality of devices from each other, thereby transferring the plurality of devices formed on the substrate to the tape; expanding the tape so that the layout of the plurality of devices adhered to the tape corresponds to the layout of the plurality of electrodes; and bonding the plurality of devices adhered to the expanded tape to the plurality of electrodes at once. 본 발명은 웨이퍼로부터 실장 기판에 디바이스를 효율적으로 이설(移設)하는 것이 가능한 디바이스의 이설 방법을 제공하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 복수의 디바이스를 복수의 전극을 구비하는 실장 기판에 이설하는 디바이스의 이설 방법으로서, 기판의 표면측에 버퍼층을 통해 형성된 복수의 디바이스에 익스팬드성을 갖는 테이프를 첩부(貼付)하는 단계와, 기판의 이면측으로부터 기판에 대해서는 투과성을 갖고 버퍼층에 대해서는 흡수성을 갖는 파장의 레이저 빔을 버퍼층에 조사하여, 버퍼층을 파괴하는 단계와, 테이프를 기판으로부터 멀어지는 방향으로 이동시켜 기판과 복수의 디바이스를 분리함으로써, 기판에 형성되어 있던 복수의 디바이스를 테이프에 전사하는 단계와, 테이프에 첩부된 복수의 디바이스의 배치가 복수의 전극의 배치와 대응하도록, 테이프를 확장하는 단계와, 확장된 테이프에 첩부된 복수의 디바이스를 복수의 전극에 일괄적으로 본딩하는 단계를 포함한다.
