A method and an apparatus for controlling a walking aid device are provided. The walking aid device can be controlled using a personalized walking policy. A preset event is detected during the current walking cycle based on state information about a motion of the walking aid device. At the point of time when the event is detected, a reward value of the state information about the motion is evaluated. If the personalized walking policy is determined to be updated based on the reward value, the personalized walking policy is updated based on the state information about the motion. 보행 보조 장치를 제어하기 위한 방법 및 장치가 제공된다. 보행 보조 장치는 개인화된 보행 정책을 이용하여 제어될 수 있다. 보행 보조 장치의 움직임에 관한 상태 정보에 기초하여 현재 보행 사이클 중 미리 설정된 이벤트를 검출하고, 이벤트가 검출된 시점에서, 움직임에 관한 상태 정보의 리워드 값을 평가하며, 리워드 값에 기초하여 개인화된 보행 정책의 갱신이 필요하다고 판단된 경우 움직임에 관한 상태 정보에 기초하여 개인화된 보행 정책이 갱신된다.
