Abstract An igniter for a combustor of a turbo machine comprises a fuel inlet communicating with a mixing plenum to allow fluid to flow. The mixing plenum is positioned at the upstream of a mixing channel. The air inlet communicates with the mixing plenum to allow fluid to flow, and an ignition source operatively communicates with the mixing channel. The ignitor includes a mounting flange configured so as to couple the ignitor to the combustor. The ignition source is positioned near an end part of the downstream of the mixing channel, and at the upstream of the mounting flange. The mixing channel may demarcate a venturi shape.
