Abstract | A portable communication device (110) and a method for use in charging an electrically powered vehicle (102) from a charging station (104) are disclosed. According to an example of the present invention, the portable communication device includes: a first input device (24) for scanning an optical machine-readable code (112) associated with the charging station; a display device (22); and a processor (14) coupled to the first input device and the display device, determining an identification number of the charging station based on the optical machine-readable code scanned by the first input device, initiating communication with the charging station through at least one network, and enabling the display device to display a user interface (304) including content associated with the charging station.
