Abstract The present disclosure relates to a circuit capable of detecting short in a chain of loads such as a light emitting diode (LED). The circuit may drive a plurality of LED chains or a single LED chain to determine if one or more of the LED chains are shorted so that the LED chains no longer operates. The circuit determines whether an LED chain voltage meets a threshold based on single LED voltage drop. Therefore, the same circuit may be used for application examples regardless of the number of LEDs in the LED chains. In addition, the circuit according to the technique of the present disclosure may not use any output pin other than that an output pin used to deliver a current to the LED chain regardless of the number of LED chains the circuit drives. 본 개시는 발광 다이오드(LED)와 같은 부하들의 체인에서 단락을 검출할 수 있는 회로에 관한 것이다. 회로는 복수의 LED 체인 또는 단일 LED 체인을 구동하여 LED 체인 중 하나 이상의 LED가 단락되어 더 이상 작동하지 않는지 여부를 판정할 수 있다. 이 회로는 LED 체인 전압이 단일 LED 전압 강하에 기초하여 임계 값을 충족하는지 여부를 판정한다. 따라서 동일한 회로가 LED 체인의 LED 수에 관계없이 응용예에 사용될 수 있다. 또한, 본 개시의 기법에 따른 회로는 회로가 구동하는 LED 체인의 수에 관계없이, LED 체인에 전류를 전달하는데 사용되는 것 이외의 어떠한 출력 핀도 사용할 수 없다.
