Abstract The present invention relates to an apparatus for estimating vehicle speed. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the apparatus for estimating vehicle speed comprises: a transmission unit transmitting a first radar signal; a reception unit receiving a second radar signal which is obtained as the first radar signal transmitted from the transmission unit is reflected and returned from an object; a speed information calculation unit calculating speed information of the object through the first radar signal and the second radar signal; a storage unit storing the speed information of the object calculated by the speed information calculation unit; and a vehicle speed estimation unit dividing the speed information stored in the storage unit into a plurality of sections in accordance with a predetermined range, selecting a fixed speed section in which the speed information is included more than a predetermined number of times among the sections, and estimating the speed of a vehicle by using the fixed speed section. 본 발명은 차속 추정 장치에 관한 것으로, 본 발명의 일 실시예에 따른 차속 추정 장치는 제1 레이더 신호를 송신하는 송신부; 상기 송신부에서 송신한 상기 제1 레이더 신호가 물체에 반사되어 되돌아오는 제2 레이더 신호를 수신하는 수신부; 상기 제1 레이더 신호 및 상기 제2 레이더 신호를 통해 상기 물체의 속도 정보를 산출하는 속도 정보 산출부; 상기 속도 정보 산출부에서 산출된 상기 물체의 속도 정보가 저장되는 저장부; 및 상기 저장부에 저장된 상기 속도 정보를 소정 범위에 따라 복수의 구간으로 구분하고, 상기 복수의 구간 중 상기 속도 정보가 소정 횟수 이상 포함된 고정 속도 구간을 선정하고, 상기 고정 속도 구간을 이용하여 차량의 속도를 추정하는 차속 추정부를 포함한다.
