Summary:The present invention relates to an electrode material and a preparation method thereof, and more specifically, to an electrode material comprising composites prepared by dry mixing and cold welding pristine Si aggregates and carbon material, and a preparation method of the electrode material. One purpose of the present invention is to provide an electrode material with improved electrical conductivity, and a preparation method thereof. Other purpose of the present invention is to provide an electrode material which is capable of securing high capacity of a battery, and a preparation method thereof. Another purpose of the present invention is to provide an electrode material which improves charge and discharge efficiency of the battery, and a preparation method thereof. The method according to the present invention comprises the steps of: preparing a silicon oxide; reducing at least a portion of the silicon oxide to prepare a first composite including aggregates in which silicon oxide particles and silicon particles are aggregated; selectively removing the silicon oxide particles of the first composite to prepare a second composite including aggregates in which the silicon particles are aggregated; and dry mixing and cold welding the second composite and carbon material to prepare a third composite. 실리콘 산화물을 준비하는 단계, 상기 실리콘 산화물의 적어도 일부를 환원하여, 실리콘 산화물 입자 및 실리콘 입자가 응집된 응집체를 포함하는 제1 복합체(first composite)를 제조하는 단계, 상기 제1 복합체의 상기 실리콘 산화물 입자를 선택적으로 제거하여, 상기 실리콘 입자가 응집된 응집체를 포함하는 제2 복합체(second composite)를 제조하는 단, 및 상기 제2 복합체 및 탄소 재료(carbon material)를 건식 혼합화(dry mixing) 및 냉간 용접(cold welding)하여 제3 복합체(third composite)를 제조하는 단계를 포함하는 전극 재료의 제조 방법이 제공될 수 있다.
