Abstract The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for observing and analyzing a snow crystal to analyze characteristics of a snow fall. According to the present invention, the snow crystal observation apparatus capable of photographing a snow crystal is configured to photograph a snow crystal in the atmosphere before the snow crystal comes in contact with the ground during a snow fall, thereby observing the snow crystal without damage to the snow crystal or breakage of the snow crystal while falling. Also, according the present invention, the snow crystal analyzing method allows accurate observation and analysis by observing snow crystals as themselves without damage to the snow crystals or breakage thereof during a snow fall by using the snow crystal observation apparatus capable of observing a snow crystal without damage to the snow crystal and breakage thereof as described above, and a snow fall characteristic analysis method allows further accurate analysis of characteristics of a snow fall by using a result of the analysis of the snow crystal. 본 발명은 강설특성의 분석을 위해 눈 결정을 관측하고 분석하기 위한 장치 및 방법에 관한 것으로, 본 발명에 따르면, 강설시 눈 결정이 지면에 접촉하기 전에 대기 중에서 눈 결정의 촬영이 가능하도록 구성되어 낙하중에 눈 결정이 손상되거나 파괴되지 않고 관측이 가능하도록 구성되는 대기중의 눈 결정 촬영이 가능한 눈 결정 관측장치가 제공되며, 또한, 본 발명에 따르면, 상기한 바와 같이 눈 결정이 손상되거나 파괴되지 않고 관측이 가능한 눈 결정 관측장치를 이용하여, 눈 결정에 손상이나 파괴됨이 없이 강설시의 눈 결정을 있는 그대로 관측하는 것에 의해 정확한 관측 및 분석이 가능하도록 구성되는 눈 결정 분석방법 및 그러한 눈 결정 분석결과를 이용하여 보다 정확한 강설특성의 분석이 가능하도록 구성되는 강설특성 분석방법이 제공된다.
