Abstract An embodiment of the present invention relates to a method and an apparatus for improving a recording speed when a holographic image is recorded. A digital holographic recording method comprises the following steps of: analyzing a target image; generating multiple hogels from the target image; and recording the multiple hogels on a recording medium by using an optical modulation method. The target image includes multiple regions, and the sizes of the multiple hogels are different according to the multiple regions of the target image.
