The present invention relates to a filter used in a ballast water filtering apparatus and to a ballast water treating system using the same and, more specifically, to a filter used in a ballast water filtering apparatus comprising a first reinforcing member which is combined along with the outer circumference of the filter, thereby surrounding the filter and making a plurality of reinforcing members at intervals in a vertical direction; and a second reinforcing member which is combined on the outer circumference of the filter to connect the first reinforcing filter, thereby forming a plurality of reinforcing members along with the outer circumference of the filter at intervals. Thus, the present invention can effectively prevent deformation of the filter from pressure added to the filter in a ballast water filtering process and accordingly improve filtering efficiency of the ballast water. The present invention also relates to a ballast water treating system using the same.
