Abstract The present invention relates to a fuel injection pump equipped with a plunger where a plurality of control helix portions are installed in the outer circumferential surface of a head portion in order to pressurize with an injection nozzle, and outputs a fuel which is inside a fuel compress chamber. The plunger comprises: connecting portions respectively installed in both side portions of the upper outer circumferential surface of the head portion in order to connect the control helix portions; and a central communicating path which communicates the fuel compress chamber and the control helix portions inside the head portion. By having a slot portion with a certain depth communicated with the central communicating path on the side portions of the head portion; the present invention minimizes transformation or damage of the plunger or the barrel by improving uniformity of the pressure distribution by distributing the pressure on the head portion of the plunger in a fuel compress process.
