Abstract The present invention relates to a negative ion generator capable of adjusting the negative ion discharge rate as large, medium, or small in order to optimize power generation by a using space and to be efficiently used regardless of the size of the using space. The negative ion generator comprises: a power discharging pin which discharges negative ions in the air by receiving A.C. 220V; an adaptor which discharges D.C. 12V after receiving, decompressing, and adjusting the power from the 220V; a variable decompression transformer which discharges a voltage after selectively varying the D.C. 12V into one of the 6V, 9V, and 12V; an inverter unit which discharges an alternating current power source of the voltage corresponding to the power source generated after inverting the D.C. voltage generated from the variable decompression transformer into an alternating current voltage with a certain frequency; a driving transformer which discharges a driving voltage after boosting one of the voltages of 6V, 9V, and 12V generated from the inverter unit upto a corresponding voltage out of 500V, 750V, and 1,000V; and a back pressure adjusting unit which removes frequency components from the driving voltage boosted from the driving transformer, back pressurizes and adjusts by four times, and differentially generates the negative ions by conveying the voltage to the power discharging pin touching air.
