The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for displaying data in a terminal having a touch screen. The method according to an embodiment of the present invention is performed in the terminal having the touch screen, and comprises the steps of: setting a ratio between a scroll and a movement distance of a touch; detecting a touch gesture in a first region of the touch screen; scrolling icons of the first region at the set ratio in response to the touch gesture; and displaying, in a second region of the touch screen, detailed information about one among at least one icon newly displayed according to the scroll.
