Abstract For an energization control device for a glow plug to which a plurality of glow plugs are electrically connected in parallel, there is provided a method for enabling the energization control device to detect wire breakage of the glow plugs connected thereto. The energization control device, which is connected between a power supply and the plurality of glow plugs, obtains the voltage output to the glow plugs and the current output to the glow plugs. Further, the energization control device determines the state of energization of the glow plugs, and detects wire breakage of the glow plugs by using a threshold value suitable for the determined state.
