Summary:PURPOSE: A face lathe is provided to install a turret on a position which is not far off from a tool rest body, to enable a saddle to move on a guide, and to exclude a cantilever structure; thereby improving self-stiffness of the lathe and preventing vibration. CONSTITUTION: A face lathe comprises a bed (1), a Z-axis guide (2), a saddle (3), a transfer motor (4), an X-axis guide (5), a cross (6), a tool rest body (7), a turret (8), a headstock (9), and a rotary motor (10). The cross is installed on the upper part of the X-axis guide, and implements a side-to-side transferring movement along the X-axis. The tool rest body is installed on the upper part of the cross. The turret is installed on the position which is not far off from the bed by being extended, and equipped with a tool. The rotary motor provides rotational power to the headstock.
