Abstract PURPOSE: A control system of an electric vehicle battery charger and a method thereof are provided to comply with international standard and at the same time to assure safety and convenience, by supplying driving power to drive an on-board battery charger preferentially through a vehicle battery. CONSTITUTION: A connector (120) is connected to a power supply apparatus (100) and a vehicle (110). A control electronic apparatus (103) generates a constant voltage or a control pilot signal of pulse type according to the charging preparation state of a charger (112). A charging controller (113) is comprised in an on-board battery charger (111) including the charger. The charging controller controls a charging operation of the charger by receiving the control pilot signal generated from the control electronic apparatus. A battery (115) is used as a power source to drive a motor of the electric vehicle.
